Xmas DIY deal in Essaouira, Morocco

Sometimes booking with a travel agent is cheaper. Sometimes booking your own holiday is, but one thing is for sure. Booking your own holiday does give you a lot more flexibility & control of your own holiday. But it also comes with some risks too. Prices mentioned in this post were live as of today 2/10/2022, and will be subject to change. The steps to booking remain the same, so there’s a good chance you can package up a different deal.

This Xmas self-catering deal comes in at under £200pp based on a family of five including transfers, flights & accommodation. Read on to see how you can package this up yourself.

STEP ONE : Flights £307 return, London Stansted to Essaouira. Travelling 17th December returning 24th December. Find your flights via Skyscanner.

STEP TWO: Book an apartment via http://www.booking.com or http://www.airbnb.com If you’re travelling with family be sure to look up reviews and check location. Sometimes it’s worth paying extra to be close to amenities since taxi fares can really add up. I found some cracking deals for 7 nights for under £300.

Or book a stay in a hotel. Use my TripAdvisor hack to get the best price. Searching with TripAdvisor has often given me a better deal than going direct to booking sites like Expedia or Hotels.com.

STEP THREE : Remember that booking your own holiday will leave you with out ATOL protection. Ensure that your travel insurance covers you for all eventualities, since many don’t cover flight cancellations or strikes as standard. Also ensure you have adequate Covid cover and meet the entry requirements.

STEP FOUR : Then remember to add on the “extras” like airport transfersairport parking & allow for food expenses.

This list I created will help you plan out your holiday & keep to budget. It’s FREE to download. I only ask that you share it with credit please.holiday.planningDownload
